Project Christmas

Project Christmas gives us a chance to come together as a church body to live out our faith in word and deed. This Christmas season, our church has decided on three different opportunities to bless our neighbors and our city.

New Community

Help us bless the women of New Community with beauty bags. New Community is an extension of Good News Jail & Prison Ministry that seeks to help women successfully re-enter society after incarceration or recovery programs through intentional mentorship and discipleship.

BEAUTY BAGS: Need 130

1. Sign up for how many beauty bags you or your gospel community plan to prepare and deliver. Each bag should cost around $50 to fill.
2. Pick up your bag(s) at Coram Deo on Sunday morning or during business hours (9 am-4 pm Monday through Friday): New Community has requested we use specific ones and that the bags are full upon completion.
3. Fill your bags with the following full-sized items: 
   • lotion
   • body wash
   • shampoo & conditioner
   • a book or devotional of your choice
   • candle
   • chapstick
   • gum
   • candy
   • anything else you want to add to fully fill the bag
4. Deliver your bags to the church by Sunday, Dec. 21 at 1 pm. 

DELIVERY DRIVERS: 5 Needed

We will also need 5 delivery drivers (5 different vehicles for transportation) on Monday, Dec. 22 to deliver the baskets to the New Community gathering. Drivers need to be at Coram Deo no later than 4 pm. Drivers will take beauty bags down to New Community's Monday night gathering and are welcome to stay for the evening of worship, meal, fellowship, and celebration.

A member of the Coram Deo New Community Team will reach out to you in the coming weeks with more details for that day.

Westside Public School

Each year we collect gift card donations for the teachers and staff at Westside Public Schools. We deliver these gift cards along with a breakfast for the entire staff at Westside High School and Paddock Road as an encouragement for the work they do all year. Help us fill the need of 400 cards by donating $10 gift cards from locations such as Starbucks, Target or Walmart. Need 25 HyVee gift cards worth $20 each for students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. You are also welcome to donate money in $10 increments and we will purchase the gift cards on your behalf. 

Collection boxes will be located in the church atrium starting Sunday, Nov. 30. The deadline to donate is Sunday, Dec. 14.
